A probate hearing on Prince's estate is expected to start on May 2, Monday, in the district court of Carver County, Minnesota. The date was set after the late music icon's sister, Tyka Nelson, filed a petition on April 26 pleading the appointment of a special administrator to secure and preserve his estate until the appointment of an executor.
The legendary musician, who died April 21 at age 57, left an estimated $300 million without any will or trust. Several of his siblings are expected to be present in the court for the hearing. Going as per the state laws, his estate is expected to be divided between Nelson and his five half siblings.
Meanwhile, a meeting called to discuss the late music icon's fortune ended in chaos when Nelson had a meltdown and stormed out, TMZ reported. She was apparently not happy with the decision that the late singer's fortune would now be shared with his half siblings since she hoped to get more than the rest of the family, owing to the fact that she is the late singer's only full-blood sister.
Earlier, it was rumored that Prince's ex Sheila E. is also feuding with Nelson over the late singer's money. However, the 58-year-old musician made it clear that she is not after her ex's money, but only wanted to provide support to his family and to court appointed officials in the handling of the estate.
"Sheila has concern for the protection of Prince's music - both released and unreleased - and has promoted that the family or Paisley Park representatives have the final decision in regards to the usage of his name and likeness," People quoted the singer, drummer's rep as saying.
Although the seven-time Grammy award winner died without a wife or any publicly known children, a few persons have come forward in the past few days claiming to be his sons and daughters. The Los Angeles office of Heirs Hunters International, a company that searches for possible heirs to estates, is reportedly flooded with calls from the late singer's self-proclaimed love-children. The company has even started investigating the claim made by an unknown man who was born in 1980s and whose mother had met the late singer a couple of times.
