Contending team Liverpool FC (15-10-10, 55 points) will look to snag a Europa League slot late in the 2015-2016 Premier League season as they face middling club Watford FC (12-15-8, 44 points) at the Anfield on Sunday, May 8th.
Liverpool is currently at the eighth spot of the English top flight table, four points behind sixth-placed squad West Ham United and the second and final Europa League qualifying berth for next season.
If the Reds will be able to win their last three matches of the season, then they will have a chance of getting a Europa League spot. The probability will be higher if any of the fourth to seventh-placed teams, Manchester City, Manchester United, West Ham, and Southampton, will be on a downward spiral as the term winds down.
Head coach Jürgen Klopp's squad went through a 1-3 upset loss against lowly team Swansea City on the road at the Liberty Stadium last Sunday, as reported by BBC Sport.
Ghanaian forward Andre Ayew scored the first of his two goals in the match at the 20th minute to open the scoring for the hosts. Midfielder Jack Cork then doubled their lead at the 33rd to build a 2-0 advantage at the break.
Liverpool then scored a consolation goal at the 65th minute via a header from striker Christian Benteke, but Ayew scored his second goal two minutes later to complete the lopsided victory.
The loss snapped the Reds' five-game unbeaten run after a 2-2 draw with Newcastle in the previous matchday.
Meanwhile, Watford pulled off a tough 3-2 win over relegated team Aston Villa at the Vicarage Road last Saturday, via SkySports.
Villa's Ciaran Clark and Watford's Almen Abdi scored at the 28th minute and in the first half stoppage time to make it a 1-1 game at the half.
Forward Jordan Ayew then netted one three minutes after the restart to give the lead to the visitors. However, the Hornet's resident striker, Troy Deeney, unleashed a double during injury time to steal the win and the three points from the cellar dwellers, giving his side only their second triumph in their last six outings.
The predicted result is a close 1-0 victory for Liverpool.
