There were no proof of BFF moments between Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez during the Met Gala 2016 on May 2, Monday. The two were seemingly apart as they did not have selfies or photo booth poses.
Swift's friendship with Gomez has shown strength and durability that the former's fans have endlessly rooted for as being a big part of the singer's life. They have been friends since Swift was 16 and Gomez was 13 and though a few years apart, the two singers have passed through similar experiences in life. Being in the same world, both have understood how it is to break out from their boxes to come out in the spotlight.
Swift and Gomez have been there for each other through thick and thin, then passed the teen years to become young adults. During the Met Gala 2016 event, both girls looked awesome wearing boots. They paired the booties with maxis and midis though the shoes that were on their peak in the 90s are good with jeans too, Glamour reported.
Swift was a co-chair of the event and arrived earlier to welcome the guests. She went on to enjoy the after-party at the Standard's Boom Boom Room and then to a pizza party with the Haim sisters.
Gomez went to the low-key after-party for four elsewhere. She spent time with fellow LV wearer Miranda Kerr while Swift was missing from the Louis Vuitton crew photo, according to E! News.
"I mean I've known her for 10 years, she's been one of my best friends through thick and thin, walked by my side," Gomez said of Swift during her appearance on ITV's "Lorraine" in the U.K. in March. "Her whole family has been so supportive of me and yeah, she's been there during crucial points in my life and in my career."
Gomez added that Swift encouraged her to tell her story and be proud of who she is, just like how the latter embraces hers in music. She finds her friend smart, sweet, humble and more successful than her.
As time passed by, Swift and Gomez have other pals. This year, the close friends have been in the same events, such as the Grammys and iHeart Radio Music Awards. However, the public did not skip the fact that they did not have photos together in the Met Gala 2016 and are thinking that their long-time friendship has waned.
Similar things already happened in the past and a single Instagram post would put all the doubts to rest. While others make the fuss out of it, the two would just laugh, as they often had.
