Iconic 'Star Wars' villain Darth Vader will reportedly appear in a cameo role for the upcoming 'Rogue One' movie, set for December 2016 release. Actor Haydn Christensen is also rumored to again suit up for the role he first played in 'Episode III: Revenge of the Sith'.
Blog site Making Star Wars is claiming in a report that Darth Vader will be part of Rogue One, the latest Star Wars instalment that will touch on the story arc detailing the daring rebel mission to steal the Death Star blueprint from the hand of the Empire. The new film will serve as Star Wars fans window to what happened between Episodes III and IV.
"We had it confirmed via three sources that we had indeed seen the Darth Vader from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," the blog report said.
And it will be the same Darth Vader that fans are familiar with, down to the last details, the report added.
"The upper armor has the tunic going over the top of the shoulders, just as it did in Episode IV. The belt buckle is the same. The inside of the cape is that shiny type of material. The gloves are identical and not like the ones in the following films. The lights on the belt are the same. The chest piece's lights match perfectly," Making Star Wars shared, highlighting the detailed Darth Vader spoilers obtained from its sources.
Yet the Darth Vader to be seen on Rogue One will differ slightly from what was presented in the prequel. "The mask is not like the symmetrical Revenge of the Sith mask; it appears to look just like the original did. The neck of the mask and the widow's peak are all there. The lenses have that amber look to them," according to the report.
Adding credence to this claim is the revelation from the report's source that Darth Vader was in fact included in the Rogue One teaser - sealed in a blue tank for some sort of healing process.
It is nearly confirmed too that the same ominous Darth Vader voice heard in Episodes IV, V and VI will be provided by the same actor in Rogue One - James Earl Jones.
But it remains to be seen if Christensen will be convinced to come out of retirement and again don the intimidating Vader suit. The actor was known in Episodes II and III as Anakin Skywalker - the persona that Darth Vader was before sliding into the dark side of the Force.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit theaters worldwide starting December 14
