New details for "Avengers: Infinity War" will feature the likely inclusion of the Defenders, Captain Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy in the two-part film.
Film writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely talked about the logistics of adding the Netflix Marvel superhero team the Defenders in "Avengers: Infinity War" directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. McFeely told IGN that they were open with the idea of having the Defenders in the film, but it is really not their call to begin with. Markus added that a lot of it had to do with pacing in that they have to do this ahead of time, before "The Defenders" crossover in Netflix before they start shooting the film.
Markus stated that it is hard logistically to keep the movie character sync up with the TV characters given that the Marvel TV series practice is different from the films. Both Markus and McFeely have worked with the Russo Brothers on "Captain America: The Winter Solder" and will team-up again on "Avengers: Infinity War".
The Russos stated in an interview that they will focus on the new characters appearing the phase 3 movies and will not likely add TV series characters since Marvel President Kevin Feige oversees the films, while Jeph Loeb handles the TV side of Marvel. Although, they are still interested in seeing in seeing Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox) or Daisy Johnson/Quake (Chloe Bennet) joining Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) anf the rest of the Avengers in "Infinity War".
In other news, new Marvel characters are added into "Avengers: Infinty War" movies.
Previous reports revealed that the Russos will be renaming "Avengers: Infinity War" due to it being a bit misleading and wanted the it to have two sets of different stories. They have also confirmed that Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel will appear in movie as previous rumors suggest she will be leading a new team of Avengers in part 2.
Anthony Russo told ComicBook that they are adding Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) in "Avengers: Infinity War", possibly hinting that the Avengers will team-up with the Guardians of the Galaxy to fight Thanos (Josh Brolin). Other characters that the Russos wanted in "Avengers: Infinity War" includes Wolverine and the Great Lakes Avengers.
"Avengers: Infinity War" part 1 is slated to be release on May 4, 2018, while part 2 is scheduled on May 3, 2019.
