Speculations are rife that Tyrion Lannister may belong to the Targaryen clan in "Game of Thrones" and "Winds of Winter."
There are four theories that support the claim that the younger Lannister may be a Targaryen. By virtue of being a Targaryen, he will also team up with Jon Snow and Khaleesi to lay claim on the Iron Throne.
The first theory says that a "dragon must be born of blood," according to a prophecy by Barristan Selmy. It may be recalled that the mothers of Jon Snow, Lannister and Khaleesi all died during child-birth, hence, these three were "born of blood."
Meanwhile, the second theory suggests that King Aerys "The Mad King" was romantically inclined towards Tywin Lannister's wife Joana, according to Asoiaf. On the couple's wedding night, the king wanted to bed the bride and the groom did not deny the king's request because he feared for his own safety.
Thus, Joana and the king continued their romantic affair, which eventually produced the younger Lannister. Hence, it is no surprise that the elder Lannister says on numerous occasions to his dwarf son that, "You are no son of mine."
The third theory regarding this claim talks about how the younger Lannister dreams of dragons and always had a morbid desire to see one. In "Game of Thrones" Season 6, the younger Lannister confronts Daenerys Targaryen's dragon and comes out unscathed from their abode, thus, giving rise to the rumor that he shares his bloodline with them.
The fourth and final theory focuses on the physical attributes of the younger Lannister, which do not seem to belong to the clan of Cersei and Jaime. He has very stubby legs, a broad forehead and eyes of two different colors - black and green. The difference in eye colors reflects that two different blood lines came together to create him.
Even the younger Lannister's hair has blond overtones quite similar to the silver hairs of a blue-blooded Targaryen. His tenacity and stubbornness also reflects the attributes of a Targaryen.
In other news, "Winds of Winter" is expected to release this month after a huge delay. Earlier this year, author George R. R. Martin had written on his blog Not a Journal that he is trying to finish the book as soon as possible.
