Network carrier Verizon has released the Android Marshmallow update for LG G5, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+.
Verizon users of LG G5 received the Android Marshmallow update, which has the build number VS98712A. The first phase of the rollout has started and it will eventually reach all the users by the end of May.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ users on the Verizon network have got the Android Marshmallow update with the build number VRU2BPD4. This is the last official operating system update for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 because its hardware is now too old to support various software enhancements.
Users of Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and LG G5 can check their devices to see whether they are due for an update or not. To do so, they need to go to Settings> About Device> Software Update.
The Android Marshmallow update is over 1,400MB in size and it is available over-the-air for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and LG G5 users, according to Sam Mobile. It is recommended to download the update over a reliable and stable Wi-Fi connection for an uninterrupted download. Users also need to plug their devices to a power source in case their battery levels are drastically low.
The Android Marshmallow update for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ comes with the latest security patches. However, the update will not support the Decrypt function of the device after upgrading to Android Marshmallow.
Users who are using the encryption function on their devices will not be able to turn it off after they are updated to Android Marshmallow. Hence, they need to disable the option before updating their device to Android Marshmallow.
Meanwhile, T-Mobile has also released the Android Marshmallow for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+, according to its support page and the build number of the update is N920TUVU2DPD1. However, the update is pending for the LG G5 users on the T-Mobile network.
