Although the fifth season of "Prison Break" has not aired yet, rumors are pointing out that there will be a sixth installment to the series. It all began when someone from the twitter universe threw a question to the writers of the show asking them if Season 5 would be the last season of the series, and one answered that it will all depend on '"Prison Break" Season 5 ratings.
After the question was asked if Season 5 will be the last for "Prison Break," the writers (@PBWritersRoom) replied immediately and hinted that the sixth season would depend on the performance of the long awaited "Prison Break" Season 5. It was also confirmed by the writers on their twitter account that the upcoming season is going to showcase nine episodes.
Since the series was confirmed to be back on the small screen after a 7-year pause, fans are reportedly excited of what "Prison Break" Season 5 should contain. Unfortunately, there are still no confirmed storylines that would reveal what the long awaited season will showcase, but one thing is for sure, and that is the confirmation that the two lead protagonist of the show, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, are coming back to reprise their roles, TVLine reported.
According to reports, it may be difficult for the two actors to manage their schedule because the two are said to have commitments in the new superhero series of CW network, "Legends of Tomorrow."
It was also confirmed that Purcell did admit that the studios behind the two shows, Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox, are working on their schedule so "Prison Break" Season 5 would come to the small screen on time. Miller, on the other hand, added that the filming of the anticipated serial drama will be on spring.
Meanwhile, it is said that the reboot will show Michael Scofield (played by Miller) and Dr. Sara Tancredi (played by Sarah Wayne Callies) will reunite, Digital Spy reported. It has been reported as well that Robert Knepper, who plays the antagonist Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell, is also returning in the "Prison Break" reboot.
"Prison Break" Season 5 is reported to be back on TV this year, but no exact release date has been provided yet.
