Google is offering Parsey McParseface and SyntaxNet to interested developers that want to integrate artificial intelligence to their application and system projects without having to build their own platform from scratch.
SyntaxNet will be an open-sourced neural network framework that can be used by developers to create software that could have the capabilities to understand how the human language works. Google is also rolling out Parsey McParseface as a parser for the English language.
AI is a highly-complicated subject but there is no doubt that the advancements in technology has improved the platform. Digital assistants such as Siri, Alexa and Cortana are products of good AI technology.
Dave Orr, the product manager for SyntaxNet, said that they hope developers will use the open-sourced platform instead of trying to "reinvent the wheel," the Wall Street Journal reported. Alphabet Inc could benefit from the free tools as they can be improved by the third-party developers as well.
Google said that Parsey McParseface is the world's most accurate model capable of parsing the English language. Both of the free tools have been made possible through the company's constant machine learning efforts pulled throughout their web products and applications.
All of the search terms that people input can be analyzed by the search engine giant's servers. They are then processed by the AI neural networks in order to constantly improve over time.
Google is not alone in trying to create new intelligent capabilities. The Watson platform from IBM is just one of their many rivals, Computerworld has learned.
With a combination of Parsey McParseface and SyntaxNet, developers will find it easier to create their own tools and applications without additional costs. In turn, the tools would become better as more people use them.
Google claims that their parser can understand sentences and words in the English language with an accuracy of over 94 percent, which is close to the 95 percent from human linguists.
The Parsey McParseface and SyntaxNet is currently available in English. Google could be planning to expand the AI platform's reach by inputting more languages but focusing on one first could bring out more positive results for everyone.
