ABC has released an official synopsis for "Castle" Season 8 episode 22 on its official website. According to the press release, Rick and Kate will finally take on LokSat in the finale.
The detective duo will discover an important lead that helps them move forward with their investigation. However, an unexpected event puts their lives in danger.
A promo video for "Castle" Season 8 gives a glimpse of the events of the finale. The trailer teases some action-packed sequences and as well as some warm moments between Rick and Kate. The teaser hints at a tragic ending and death of Kate.
"Kate Beckett will be dead by the end of the night and there is nothing you can do about it," Mr. Flynn threatens Rick in the promo video.
The trailer shows Alexis and Martha hugging Castle as the voice suggests that "Everything ends in tragedy, even an epic love story like yours."

Another promo video shows Rick in the custody of Mr. Flynn. The mystery novelist has been kidnapped for an interrogation about LokSat case. Mr Flynn asks Rick to tell him all the names of the people who know about LokSat. As Rick refuses to betray the people, Mr. Flynn injects him with a chemical that will kill Rick in an hour. While it remains uncertain which one of the two will die at the end of the season finale, rumours claim that Kate will make the ultimate sacrifice in an attempt to save her husband.
