Kevin Owens is one of the best pure heels in the WWE along with the Chris Jericho and The Authority. According to the latest rumors, Owens may be getting a big main event push after his feud with Sami Zayn.
The 32-year-old Canuck recently celebrated his first year in the WWE main roster. Some of the company's top officials like Vince McMahon doubted Owens since he does not look like the prototypical wrestler.
Nonetheless, Owens had a very impressive debut year because he has already won the Intercontinental championship twice. He also holds wins over top WWE superstars like John Cena, Dean Ambrose and Cesaro.
According to Daily Wrestling News, Mr. McMahon is changing his perspective of Owens. The WWE chairman is reportedly impressed with the former NXT champion's charisma as a heel, his microphone and wrestling skills, as well as his work on commentary. He is also active on social media which the WWE loves, as he shuts down trolls on Twitter and his responses are very entertaining.
Owens may be given a push by the big boss after his feud with Zayn ends. This report comes off the speculations that Mr. McMahon is losing faith on Roman Reigns, Sportskeeda reported.
The WWE has been pushing Reigns for the past couple of years but the crowd does not get behind him fully. The company has many superstars waiting in the wings to be given the same opportunity and do the best they can.
Nonetheless, Triple H is still a backer of Reigns as champion and the next face of the company. The push to be given to Owens is for the main event which could lead to him challenging whoever the WWE World Heavyweight champion is. He may also be given the Money in the Bank briefcase to make him more relevant in the eyes of fans.
The WWE can keep KO occupied with different feuds before giving him his first crack at the WWE title. His feud with his bitter rival Zayn also involves the Intercontinental champion The Miz and Cesaro. These four superstars will battle it out in a Fatal 4-Way Match at "Extreme Rules" on Sunday.
