"Produce 101's" Lee Soo Hyun and Lee Hae-In just filed a lawsuit against SS Entertainment to terminate their contract, citing the unjustifiable length of contract and content.
Most recent reports noted that Soo Hyun and Hae-In have filed a lawsuit on May 4 against SS Entertainment to nullify their contracts. The rising stars have decided to file for termination with regards to the invalidity and non-existence of an exclusive contract with the said entertainment label.
"The length of the exclusive contract is excessively long and the scope of the contract is too broad that it essentially affects their freedom regarding economic activity," their legal representative, Joon Kyung, said in a released statement on May 19, Thursday, obtained by Soompi.
Kyung went ahead to say that Soo Hyun and Hae-In were not given the proper vocal and dance training that any idol trainees needed. Further, he stated that the entertainment label failed to debut the two idols within the year as settled upon.
"With the guarantee of debuting, they persuaded [them to sign] the unjust contract," Kyung added, while stating that they plan on having SS Entertainment to lawfully terminate the said exclusive contracts through the lawsuit.
Not long after the news made clamor in the online world, a representative of SS Entertainment responded that the giant company have learned about Soo Hyun and Hae-In lawsuit through the news and stressed that they are opening up various channels for discussion. SS Entertainment is expected to make an official statement soon.
