Reddit now has a feature that allows users to embed posts from the site and onto their blogs or articles online which has been already possible for YouTube videos and Twitter posts in the past.

Online news articles writers can now include live Reddit posts through embedded content. It could potentially drive more traffic to the site as more people find out about Reddit.

In the past, the only way to share a funny or interesting post from the site is to share the link itself to another person. Writers can now embed the posts on their articles themselves.

The new feature is useful as there are a number of sources that provide their details on Reddit. Simply linking to them sometimes is not enough but embedding the post itself from the subreddits will bring more information to the viewer or reader.

Popular Hollywood celebrities and personalities from various industries often join Ask Me Anything sessions on the site. Questions answered by the people on Reddit can then be embedded on a site, TechCrunch reported.

"The great thing about Reddit content is that it's usually longer, it's more insightful, more in-depth than you'll see on other social platforms. You're going to get a more robust conversation," said Mark Luckie, the head of Reddit's journalism and media.

Luckie does have a point. Twitter's tweets have a 140-character limit which also limits the content available to be embedded whereas Reddit posts can have several hundreds of words long in one post excluding the comments.

Users can also embed gifs found from the depths of subreddits available on the site. It can be used to spice up blog posts and such as the animated pictures can add variety to plain text.

Movie magic...minus the magic. from gifs

All users have to do is to clock the "share" option which can be found ear the comments section on a post, PC Magazine reported. It would show a separate window with the code for embedding and also a preview.

Reddit is a gold mine for news articles, theories, speculations, gifs and so much more. The ability to embed posts is highly useful for almost anyone on the Internet.
