Apple will likely introduce the MacBook Pro 2016 lineup via the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that will start June 13 with the release date to follow shortly. The feature upgrades to unbox with the next-generation OS X laptops remain a mystery but thankfully a few solid hints have been provided by the 12-inch Retina MacBook.
Here are the five features that mostly likely will unpack with the upcoming MBP:
Lighter and slimmer build
Analysts said that the recently unveiled 12-inch MacBook 2016 gives the cue for the new MacBook Pro design and build. The MBP will keep its status as the most powerful of the MacBook class but it will be the thinnest and lightest ever and the rumored use of sixth-generation Intel Skylake will play a big role on such adjustment.
There will be 13-inch and 15-inch screen sizes of the MacBook Pro 2016 but the overall profile will nearly be as slim and light as that of their 12-inch cousin.
Mightier, faster and longer battery life
With Skylake too as part of the MBP 2016 package, users will experience significant performance gains both in terms of might and speed. The jump from Broadwell to Intel's latest chip architecture will be further boosted by the entry of OS X 10.12, which rumors said will be known as MacOS starting off with the latest MacBook line.
And the latest tweaks too done on MacOS will deliver longer battery hours, the achievement of which will be supported by the use of terraced battery cell technology, Forbes said in a report.
Better Retina Display
Evolution dictates that the best that already exists can still be bettered by the new generation. In the case of MacBook Pro, the Retina refresh will deliver higher screen pixel density for a more stunning display resolution while keeping the power consumption at the minimum.
Butterfly keyboard
Rumors say that MacBook Pro engineers will borrow the Butterfly keyboard mechanism found on the 12-inch MacBook. The set-up is optimal for higher accuracy and productivity. Yet since the MBP's will come in 13-inch and 15-inch flavors, the same Butterfly keyboard setting will need to be reconfigured for the larger build.
2 USB-C ports?
Apple knows that USB-C is the wave of the future so the MacBook Pro 2016 on release date will likely boast not only one but at least two ports for the soon-to-be dominant connectivity standard. Such move will allow users to work on and set up the MBP in expanded ways and at the same time dump the multiport adapter that makes for a better portability experience.
