The Mitsubishi ASX otherwise known as the Outlander Sport in North America has received some major overhaul and now has a 2.4 liter MIVEC engine. The new engine will be integrated to the 2015 model of the ASX.
The new ASX engine will boost the cars output by around 20 horsepower from the 168 horsepower offered by the 2.0 liter engine. The new engine will also come in two variants, the 2.4 ES and the 2.4 GT. The GT model has additional perks the range from a black bar located on the car's front grille, black roof rails and LED turn indicators, according to paultan.org.
Fuel mileage for the front wheel drive is reported at 23 miles per gallon for city driving, 28 mpg for highway and 25mpg for combined driving. While the four-wheel drive models is reported to be at 23 mpg for city, 26 mpg for highway and combined of 24 mpg.
Pricing for the new engine is at $21,295 for the 2.4 ES model with an additional $850 destination charge on all models, the ES model however gets a black center bumper. The 2.4 GT model is priced at $23,595 with additional power driver seat. Customers will also be offered a GT Premium Package that will add an upgraded stereo system with moonroof and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Mitsubishi will also offer a GT Touring Package that sports leather seats and an additional seven-inch navigation system, according to Autoblog.
An official statement from Mitsubishi also said that the new car model will contain a fully transferable 5-year/60,000 mile new vehicle warranty. A 10-year/100,000 mile powertrain limited warranty, a 7-year/100,000 mile anti-corrosion perforation limited warranted and a 5-year/unlimited mile roadside assistance benefit.
