It has been 3 year since Naughty Dog released "The Last of Us," and the remastered version of the game was made available a year after. Today, new speculations about "The Last of Us 2" points to the possibility that it may focus on the female character, Ellie.
The character was spotted on "Uncharted 4," a game developed by Naughty Dog and produced by Sony. It was said that Ellie appears to be pregnant on a poster found inside the fourth installment of the "Uncharted" game series, Movie Pilot reported.
However, the report did clarify that the female character presumed as Ellie is wearing a gas mask while holding a gun on her left hand. Some fans did also said that the female protagonist is right-handed, which directly contradicts the character seen on the poster. That is why it is still hard to tell whether it is indeed the same Ellie. Despite of that, most fans are reported to be convinced that the pregnant woman is no doubt Ellie, basing on the woman's general appearance.
According to Christian Times, there is a great chance that the game's developer may have designed the long awaited "The Last of Us 2" to revolve around the female protagonist. The same publication cited that the game's developer has already provided the fans with a teaser on Twitter about a week ago, the post may have revealed the plot of the awaited sequel, which says will focus on Ellie.
It was also highlighted Ellie's immunity to the virus, which kept her from being one of the people who got infected and mutated into zombie-like creatures. Given this detail, fans are speculating that the main storyline of "The Last of Us 2" may center on Ellie's immunity as a weapon to finally treat the infection.
As of the moment, Naughty Dog has not revealed any release date yet, but rumors are pointing to a 2018 release of "The Last of Us 2." Perhaps, the game's developer may release some details of the game in the coming months.
