While the release date of “Suits” Season 6 has only been recently confirmed, series creator Aaron Korsh revealed that the hit USA network series will be back for Season 7, and possible even Season 8.
In a recent Twitter Q&A, Korsh held that he is "highly doubtful" that "Suits" will end after Season 6. While there is nothing official as of date, fans of the show seemed to be happy about the early renewal.
Speaking to Digital Spy back in March, Korsh revealed that he has renewed his contract with Universal Cable Productions for two more years. While this could mean that he may be working with another series, Korsh held that there is a strong possibility that "Suits" will have Season 7 and Season 8.
The showrunner further held that he is, not at all, worried that the they could be overstaying their welcome, pointing out that there were several series that lasted way more than six seasons. Korsh, however, admitted that the Season 5 finale was the "closest thing to a series finale" he had in mind. Now that they are going on an uncharted territory, he shared that their strategy was just to take the series one step at a time.
"I don't know how close we are to the end, but I know we're very likely closer to the end than we are to the beginning... So far, we've done a good job just taking each season as it comes, and that's probably where we'll continue to go," he said.
In a separate interview, Rick Hoffman, who plays Louis Litt on "Suits," admittedly thought that he would only be willing to do the series for seven seasons. As the show progressed, the actor, however, had a change of heart. Given the opportunity, Hoffman held that he wanted "Suits" to run up to Season 9.
"We're still the most watched program original program on USA Network in the States - more so than 'Mr Robot,' even though they're getting critical acclaim. So, let's keep the ride going. It's such a rare experience. It's lightning in a bottle, so why cut it off short?"
"Suits" Season 6 airs July 13 on USA. Tune in for more spoilers and cast updates.
