The upcoming iPhone 7 will feature 32GB base storage and up, and they will be dropping the 16GB models finally to give way to the newer ones. The new model will also fix the biggest iPhone 6S issue that many fans of the smartphone complained about.
According to 9 to 5 Mac, an IHS Technology analyst said in a statement that the upcoming smartphone by Apple will only feature 32GB storage as the $199 base model. This would only mean that they are now going to finally drop the 16GB models from their lineup and will be replaced with the new ones this coming fall.
The upcoming model of Apple's smartphone will also fix the biggest problem that its predecessor had, according to Forbes. Storage was one of the issues that many iPhone fans were complaining about, but it was about the battery life that they wanted to fix. With the new model, it was promised that the company will be making improvements regarding about that particular issue.
The analyst has also said that the new smartphone will have a 2GB of RAM, which is the same feature that the iPhone 6s had. It was not mentioned if it was the whole category of iPhone 7 or it was the 4.7 inch model. KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also said in a statement that the 5.5 inch iPhone 7 Plus will have 3GB RAM, and it will be able to handle the dual camera features.
The 16GB model of the smartphone was introduced by the mobile phone company in 2008, and it has become a staple base model in their lineup ever since. Fans of the smartphones now have more needs for storage, which made 16GB not enough for the amount of data they use. The current smartphone lineup uses 4k resolution recording and 16GB is not enough for data storage, so the 32GB upgrade will be a welcome addition.
The upcoming model of the smartphone will be a great update over its predecessor, and fans will have to expect more features that will be convenient for them. The mobile phone company has also dropped the headphone jack, and instead went for the Bluetooth wireless or Lightning port connections for audio devices.
