"Game of Thrones" producer HBO is extending its war against piracy as the next target for the company is popular porn site Pornhub, where GoT clips are found but not Season 6 full episodes of the hit television series. HBO is taking down pirated sexy clips that highlight the nude scenes of Daenerys Targaryen, Margaery Tyrell and the Red Woman Melisandre.
The three Game of Thrones characters are among the most frequently shown on screen without their clothes on and apparently Pornhub users have taken the liberty to put up collection of sexy scenes involving these GoT leading ladies. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), for instance, was the subject of nude compilation videos that have since been taken down, TorrentFreak reported.
And all similar clips are likely to be removed soon as HBO is planning to take action on the matter, the report added.
"HBO is aware of the issue and is in the process of getting material taken down from Pornhub," TorrentFreak reported the GoT producer as saying. The statement indicates too that HBO intends to stop not only the illegal download and streaming of Game of Thrones but also to crackdown on activities that make use of GoT clips as porn materials.
The same report noted that as Game of Thrones dominates primetime television, nearly the same goes on the adult entertainment scene as popular Pornhub searches point to Clarke, Natalie Dormer and Carice Van Houten (the last two actors play Margaery and Melisandre, respectively) as among the most used key words.
But Clarke or Daenerys tops them all as popular Pornhub key words associate her with searches such as "sexy scenes," "boobs," and "nude." Of note, Clarke is regarded as the most exposed among the main GoT characters with some of her past scenes involving frontal nudity, which likely explains her Pornhub popularity.
In contrast, BGR is of the opinion that Game of Thrones clips finding their way on adult sites like Pornhub may actually in HBO's favor. It could be that Pornhub fans will find the characters and the scenes interesting then they'll be asking for more. The next logical recourse is head to HBO for the full treat, which the GoT producer will surely appreciate, the report said.
Nonetheless, Game of Thrones invading even Pornhub only proves that the HBO fantasy-drama series is the most pirated TV show in the planet today, a fact that likely will continue in the next two years as GoT showrunners have already indicated that after the ongoing Season 6 two more seasons can be expected.
