Victoria Secret model Gigi Hadid and ex-One Direction crooner Zayn Malik have split after dating for seven months. Although they have not spoken about it yet, there is a speculation that Malik cheated on Hadid during his recent trip in Australia.
The ex-couple had been reportedly facing a rough patch before they finally ended their relationship. The breakup of Hadid and Malik was first confirmed by E! News.
"Zayn and Gigi did break up, but they can likely get back together tomorrow," an insider told the publication. "It's all very unclear what's going on between them now. They have been having some issues lately that involved communication and getting along."
It was not clear what caused their split, but a source revealed that they had a row during Hadid's birthday. They had unsettled arguments leading to several breakups in the past before they eventually separated.
Another source revealed that there is a possibility that Hadid and Malik will be getting back together in the near future. The same source confirmed their breakup and added that the former sweethearts were facing issues of communication and misunderstanding.
Hadid was completely devastated about her split with Malik. She is reportedly looking forward to patching things up with him because she misses Malik so much and the time they spent together.
Hadid and Malik stepped out together in public after the American Music Awards in November. They confirmed their romance in December through a social media post, where they were seen intimate in a photo.
On May 2, Hadid and Malik made a red carpet debut at the Met Gala event. They were also featured in Vogue's May cover issue.
Both had gone from high-profile relationships. Hadid split with with Joe Jonas in November 2015 while Malik dumped his fiancée, Little Mix's singer Perrie Edwards in August 2015.
In the midst of many speculations on why Hadid and Malik broke up, there were rumors circulating that he might have cheated on her during his recent trip in Malibu, Australian Networks reported. Last week, the "Pillowtalk" singer spent his weekend with his friends, and he was spotted with a new blonde girl, who could be his new girlfriend.
Hadid posted a picture of her and Malik with a very emotional caption five days ago in her Instagram that made more tongues wagging about their split.
Hadid and Malik have kept mum about the issue. He stayed off the social media and was last seen performing his latest hit "Like I Would" music video in "The Voice" finale on May 27, Monday.
