Sony Pictures has announced a new partnership with Marvel Studios. The new Spider-Man movie, which has been scheduled to be release on July 28, 2017 will be the first mega project produced by their co-chairman Amy Pascal. She will be teaming up with Marvel's Kevin Feige.
The $4 billion Spiderman Franchise under the supervision of Amy for over 13 years at the studio will take charge for the rebooted Spider man with entirely new creative team, The Wrap reported.
The casting of actors and filmmakers for the new Spider-Man are to be finalized yet. Marc Webb and the creative team behind "The Amazing Spider-Man" are certainly out.
According to Marvel, Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute, own and have final creative control of the Spider-Man movies. Marvel and Sony Pictures are also exploring opportunities to integrate characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe into future Spider-Man films.
This proved that the hype for the Spider-Man movies in Hollywood is never going to fade away with this collaboration Marvel will frame Spider-Man's image stronger than the other superheroes.
With this new partnership, it seems interesting to see who will be the next Peter Parker after Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield who starred in the two last two films, "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." It is even more interesting to watch clash of the Marvel heroes "Thor" and "Spider-man" as their release date has been planned for July 2017, but the release date for "Thor" sequel is likely to be postponed and pushed to Nov. 3, 2017.
Sony will work with Marvel, which is owned by Disney, on the upcoming superhero projects like "The Avengers" and on many similar projects. Right now, Spider-Man is the most successful franchise in the history of Sony Pictures, and this new Spidey will be the sixth installation.
