BIGBANG has planned a slew of activities to mark their 10th year in the industry. Hence, most recent news claimed that the five-member boy group will be bringing their highly-acclaimed "MADE V.I.P Tour" to Taiwan.
On June 5, Taiwan's EBC reported that BIGBANG will be holding "2016 BIGBANG MADE V.I.P TOUR" in Taipei and Kaohsiung in September. Fans in Taipei will get the chance to see the boys perform at Multipurpose Gymnasium National Taiwan Sports University on Sept. 9 and 10 and then a day later at Kaohsiung's Arena on Sept. 11, Soompi reported.
Taiwan's EBC network also pointed out that the forthcoming concert may be BIGBANG's last show in Taiwan, particularly now that talks about their military enlistment are already making the rounds on the web. BIGBANG's concert tickets and more information about the show are expected to be available soon.
The renowned K-pop idols - G-Dragon, Taeyang, Seungri, T.O.P, and Daesung - first made headlines earlier this month after numerous newsstand in South Korea claimed that the boys are reportedly planning on enlisting and completing the two-year mandatory military service at the same time. It is said that the boys are aiming to lessen the length of their hiatus.
Not long after the claims made noise in the K-pop community, BIGBANG's agency, YG Entertainment, was keen to dismiss the claims. YG Entertainment CEO and music mogul, Yang Hyun Suk, stressed that the K-pop idols will enlist one at a time.
"Big Bang's oldest member T.O.P will enlist first, and then other members will follow one by one," another unnamed representative from YG Entertainment told All K-pop.
Several reports then claimed that G-Dragon and Taeyang will enlist in the military in 2017 and will shortly be followed by Daesung and Seungri in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Adding on, it is said that the remaining members will carry out the group's forthcoming activities and promotions as planned, while T.O.P is completing his military service in the latter half of the year or in early 2017.
Formed by YG Entertainment in 2006, BIGBANG catapulted their name to international fame with the released of their cutting edge music. The group was also praised for their distinct and exuberant fashion style. Having won numerous awards in the music industry, both inside and outside South Korea, the group is said to be the first Asian artists to be ever awarded the Best Fan Award at the MTV Italy TRL Awards in 2012.
To celebrate their tenth year in the business, the boy group previously announced their plans to make the much-awaited tenth-anniversary concert as an epic day-long festival. It is said that BIGBANG will hold the said special concert in an open-air venue in South Korea this late spring.
