"Game of Thrones" star Carice Van Houten has admitted that getting nude on the sets of the hit HBO series is not one of her favorite things. The actress is popular for her role of Melisandre, the Red Priestess, in the hit HBO series.
"It's not my favorite thing to do at all," the 39-year-old star told The Guardian on being quizzed about the female nudity on the show. "I really don't like to take my clothes off on a set where everyone's wearing fucking North Face jackets."
However, the actress was quick to add that Melisandre has used her body as a weapon in the show. The Netherland-born actress is set to play Nazi filmmaker and propagandist Leni Riefenstahl in a new film titled "Race."
Talking further about the popular show, the actress agreed that the continental audience is still uncomfortable with their own bodies and sexuality. She pointed out how violence on screen is considered okay, whereas a female bare breast is still considered a taboo.
Van Houten also seemed to agree with Emilia Clarke, the actress who plays Daenerys, that there should be more male nudity on "Game of Thrones." She even claimed that she will prefer seeing a male genital organ on the screen as compared to a machine gun.
The actress even went on to defend nudity on the hit show by describing how they are actually "showing reality." She was last seen in the "Game of Thrones" Season 6 re-pledging her faith in newly-resurrected Jon Snow (Kit Harington).
Meanwhile, Van Houten was spotted recently in Amsterdam along with her "Repo Men" co-star Jude Law. While the actor was seen signing autograph for fans in a navy blazer with a thin scarf below a scoop neck top, the actress looked stunning in a billowing white gown paired with stylish brown ankle boots, Daily Mail reported.
The dress cleverly shielded the pregnant actress' baby bump as its hemline hung loosely off her figure. Earlier, she took to Twitter in March to announce that she is expecting her first child with actor Guy Pierce.
Ok. I'm ready for your shadowbaby jokes.
