If new reports are anything to go by, the release of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has been delayed.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is powered by Intel's Skylake processors. There are speculations that the forthcoming Surface Pro 5 will be powered by Intel's Kaby Lake processors that are faster than Skylake processors.
Several reports indicate that the Surface Pro 5 will be launched in June 2016 after the official release of the Kaby Lake processors at the 2016 Computex. However, the chipmaker Intel has said that the Kaby Lake processor will release toward the end of 2016.
According to a Digital Trends report, Intel Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake Processor is capable of a GPU performance of 37.41MP per second, a DDR4 latency of 23.2 nanoseconds, 5.59GB per sec cryptographic processing, 313.84MP per sec multimedia processing and 118.71 giga-operations per sec across eight threads.
Reports also suggest that the Core i7-7700K will be joined by Core M7-7Y75 Kaby Lake-Y chip and Core i7-7500U Kaby Lake-U chip.
The Surface Pro 4 tablet was unveiled in October last year. Rumors are doing the rounds that the Surface Pro 5 will be released around the same period in 2016.
According to some reports, the tech company Microsoft will not release the Surface Pro 5 in 2016 and will push the release of the device to 2017.
It is said that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will feature a 4K UHD display with a resolution of 3840 X 2160 pixels.
According to several reports, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will pack a new Surface Pen that comes with a rechargeable battery.
According to a CNET report, a USB C port is possible to pack in the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. This will complement those found in Microsoft Surface Pro 4, such as the audio jack, Mini DisplayPort, microSD card slot and lone USB 3.0 port.
There are rumors that the base model of the upcoming device will be priced at $899 and the top variant of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will cost about $1,800.
