NVIDIA could be gearing up to launch a successor for the GTX Titan X or the new GTX 1080 Ti plus other GPUs that could be for Quadro or Tesla cards.
While everyone else is busy trying to get a hold of the new GTX 1080 and pre-ordering the GTX 1070, NVIDIA may be occupied by testing the new GP102 chip for a more powerful card. The GP100 and GP104 chips have also been spotted which could mean that new Quadro cards are joining the party as well.
Other chips that have been spotted are the GP102 and the GP106 which could be more Tesla cards. The GTX 1060 and GTX 1050 budget GPUs are also possible.
Geeks3D forum posters have spotted that NVIDIA is testing the said unnamed GPUs for future releases by the end of the year, Videocardz has learned. The GPUs could be for a new Titan X or the GTX 1080 Ti that some are already anticipating.
Both the Titan and the Ti versions of the cards in the previous generation sat at the top of the GPU chain. They were expensive but they delivered more performance compared to their predecessors.
The same thing can also happen with the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 cards. Both are still relatively cheap compared to the previous GPUs and there are still lots of space for higher-end graphic cards.
There are also speculations that a GTX 1060 Ti card is possible from the list of leaked Pascal Device IDs, WCCFTech reported. The Quadro and Tesla cards for workstations could also make an appearance before the year ends.
People are already hitting the refresh button on their browsers to buy the upcoming custom AIB GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 cards. The same thing could happen when the more powerful cards are released.
NVIDIA will still confirm the GTX 1080 Ti or GTX 1060 cards in a future event now that the Computex 2016 has ended. PC gamers not interested in 4K will have to be contented with the GTX 1070 and the GTX 1080 for several months before the new cards will be unveiled by the company.
