Apple's World Developers Conference (WWDC) starts on June 13, Monday with a keynote event at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. The tech giant will reportedly showcase the newest version of various operating systems including iOS, OS X, watchOS, and tvOS. It might also roll out new features for services including Apple Pay, iMessage, and iCloud, but will probably not introduce hardware such as an updated MacBook Pro or brand new Thunderbolt Display.
Operating Systems
iOS 10 could include design changes for the operating system run on iPhones and iPads because there have been few since iOS 7. They could include a dark mode.
Apple will likely unveil Siri SDK that allows new ways for the digital assistant to interact with third-party apps. This would allow Siri to do tasks within apps.
iPhone 7 devices are likely to launch in September. However, iOS 10 could conceivably include improvements for the dual-lens camera in the iPhone 7 Plus.
Next, OS X 10.12 is expected to add Siri's voice services to Macs so the personal assistant can be used on Mac computers like iOS devices, according to Mac Rumors. The functionality will be very similar. This will allow Siri to do searches, answer questions, play music from iTunes, change system settings, and open apps.
Apple has announced that new versions of watchOS and tvOS will be unveiled at WWDC. However there have been few details provided about what would be included in the new versions.
Services
Apple Pay will be receiving many new features that could be showcased at WWDC. They include web browsers getting Apple Pay, and a person-to-person update for the mobile payment service.
The California-based corporation also plans to announce iMessage for Android at the event.
After its legal battle with the FBI, Apple will probably unveil new security features for iOS and OS X. They could include encrypted iCloud backups.
Hardware
It was rumored earlier by Japanese site Mac Otakara that Apple would unveil new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models this month. However, it is more likely they will ship in Q4 of this year.
WWDC 2016 will take place from June 13, Monday to June 17, Friday. In the past few years Apple has given out 5,000 tickets by allowing developers to register for a lottery, according to Macworld.
