When onscreen love team in Kdramas has an amazing chemistry and convincing acting, we oftentimes hope that their romance will translate from onscreen to off screen. Here are 5 onscreen couples we wished to go real from reel.
"Descendants of the Sun": Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki
On top of this list would be the "Song Song Couple" from "Descendants of the Sun." The pair display powerful chemistry onscreen and offscreen that fans are convinced there might be something going on between them in real life.
Over the period they filmed the hit military-themed series, Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki have grown tremendously close. In interviews, they constantly express their admiration and respect for each other.
"I think Song Hye-Kyo influenced me the most, as she spent the most time with me during the filming," Joong Ki said, as quoted by Kpop Herald. "She was always considerate of everyone around her and her behavior is a living proof of why she is such a great star."
Even Hye Kyo is very smitten with Joong Ki and his portrayal of Captain Yoo Shi Jin.
"'Should I confess my love or apologise?' That was the line he said (after the kiss) that made my heart flutter," Hye-Kyo said.
"Pinocchio": Lee Jong Suk and Park Shin Hye
Lee Jong Suk and Park Shin Hye were also the subject of dating rumors during and after "Pinocchio" went on air. The two were previously spotted going on secret dates, getting fans excited about a possible real-life romance between the love birds. According to Drama Fever, the two quickly dispelled dating rumors and explained that they are just close friends.
"Dream High": Suzy Bae and Kim Soo Hyun
Before Suzy Bae got into a relationship with Lee Min Ho, and before Kim Soo Hyun even became a massive Hallyu star, the two young stars starred in "Dream High." In the series, the two had a love-hate relationship, with Suzy playing the competitive ice queen and Kim being the humble, yet immensely talented boy from the province. Theirs was an unassuming romance that developed as they learned to work together and realized that they can count on each other.
Because of the success of "Dream High," along with Suzy and Kim Soo Hyun's convincing chemistry, they quickly picked up endorsement deals together.
"Coffee Prince": Yoon Eun Hye and Gong Yoo
The believable onscreen romance between Yoon Eun Hye and Gong Yoo's characters contributed too much of the drama's success. They were a very happy and lovey-dovey couple, and many of their scenes together still make fans swoon.
"The Heirs": Krystal and Min Hyuk
Although they weren't the show's lead love team, Krystal and Min Hyuk stole the show with their cute boyfriend-girlfriend relationships. Theirs was the perfect portrayal of what love is like in high school, and Krystal did an awesome job playing the playfully jealous and cute girlfriend to the very understanding and patient Min Hyuk. They were absolutely adorable together and it was almost impossible not to see them as a couple in real life.
