Jeff Hardy is one of the most popular and charismatic superstars in the history of the WWE. According to the latest rumors, Hardy wants to make one final WWE run and main event a WrestleMania.
The 38-year-old started his WWE career in 1994 as a jobber or an enhancement talent, who consistently loses on television to make his opponents look stronger. His big break happened in 1998 when he was signed along with his older brother, Matt, to a full-time WWE contract.
The Hardy Boyz are one of the most decorated tag teams in wrestling history, winning the WWE tag team titles six times. Matt and Jeff also had successful singles careers in the WWE with the younger Hardy winning the WWE world titles three separate times.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Jeff revealed his intentions to finish his career in the WWE and main event a WrestleMania in his retirement match. The former WWE champion left in 2009 and returned to TNA where he has worked since 2010.
"I don't know how much longer I've got, and naturally I would love to end with a WrestleMania and I would love to have a Hell in a Cell. That's something I've always wanted to do, and I've always wanted to headline 'Mania," Jeff said.
The Charismatic Enigma added that he feels his career is coming to an end because of the accumulation of all the injuries he suffered in his career. He suffered a broken leg in a dirt bike accident on May 8, 2015, and that injury also caused him to tear his PCL.
It was rumored late last year that the WWE was looking to bring back The Hardys as they won a fan survey. WWE asked which stars they want to have one more match and The Hardy Boyz won by a landslide.
However, no return was made because Matt and Jeff are still in under contract with TNA. The WWE may also be very wary of Jeff's personal issues. He is known for his substance abuse problems and the WWE won't probably sign him until he's clean.
According to What Culture, those drug problems caused the WWE to stay away from Jeff but he has overcome those demons. He has been a vital part of TNA for the past five years but a return to WWE is always going to be talked about. He's still relatively young but the injuries he suffered throughout the years have slowed him down.
