Latest reports claimed that "Jessica Jones" stars Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), 34, and Mike Colter (Luke Cage), 39, is all set to arrive in South Korea later this month, in an effort to participate in a series of scheduled promotional events organized by Netflix.
Ritter and Colter will join the likes of "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" star Ki Hong Lee, "Marco Polo" actress Claudia Kim and Australian filmmaker Josh Wakely, the brainchild of Netflix's "Beat Bugs," All K-pop reported. According to the publication, the five renowned Netflix stars' will enter the said country for promotional purposes, which would be the platform's first-ever event in the state apart from launching its streaming service.
Although there has yet been no official announcement regarding their reported visit, speculations are rife that the stars will reportedly hold interviews with different local media outlets, plans to hold a slew of exciting promotional activities and more. Nonetheless, it can be recalled that Netflix's streaming video service has now gone live in 130 new countries across the world, including South Korea.
"Today you are witnessing the birth of a new global Internet TV network," said Netflix's CEO Reed Hastings in a press released statement obtained by Android Central. "While largely available in English in most new countries, Netflix today added Arabic, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese to the 17 languages it already supports."
For one monthly price, South Koreans members will now be able to enjoy Netflix's original series. It was earlier reported the company giant plans to release 31 new and returning original series, an extensive array of stand-up comedy specials and more - which is available to all members everywhere in the world with the most notable exception in China, North Korea, Crimea and Syria, where it is banned from operating by the United States law.
Meanwhile, it seems that it may take some time before fans see "Jessica Jones" on the small screen, as it was learned that the said series will be filmed back-to-back with the upcoming "The Defenders." The filming of "The Defenders" will officially kick-off in the latter half of this year.
