"Game of Silence" season 1 was recently cancelled NBC, but their reasons for the cancellation were never made known.
According to multiple sources, "Game of Silence" season 1 was cancelled after 10 episodes primarily because it failed to impress in terms of ratings.
Viewers of the show recently noted another possible reason why the David Lyons starrer was asked from the network.
On Design N Trend, one fan Angeleys said that some viewers may not have favored the fact that the series featured physical abuse of young boys. Even though it wasn't deliberately stated in every episode, there were some hints that the boys at Quitman juvenile facility may have also been sexually abused
"I think the abuse of teenage boys is exactly why it didn't do well. I enjoyed the show but when I tried to get my father to watch it, he watched one episode and said it was too dark and depressing. This from the guy who likes 'The Blacklist' and the one with the tattooed woman. This isn't typically a show for women because of its structure and content, so the majority of its fanbase needs to be men 18-45. Unfortunately, that group needs sex appeal to sell a show and there wasn't much of that in 'Game of Silence.'"
Meanwhile, several other fans acknowledged the previous speculation by saying that it really makes sense.
"I get you why it would really be difficult for a male audience to watch. You're exactly right. Maybe next time?" @Rhyme and Reason wrote.
Another fan @Simply Wynne added, "Excellent comment and so true about being able to understand the trauma that boys and men experience in regards to sexual abuse."
In other news, fans of the hit NBC series are still urging the network to consider giving it a second chance.
"Great show! NBC you have to renew it! Best I've seen since '24'! Very disappointed to hear it's cancelled," one fan wrote.
Another fan @Sam wrote, "They better renew this show. With all the absolute garbage that's on TV nowadays, it's so nice having a great show like this to break up the monotony."
Will "Game of Silence" be renewed for season 2? Will another network pick up the now-debunked series?
