One of the bigger surprises in this year's E3 2016 is the announcement of a new "Spider-Man" game exclusive for the PS4. Although not much information have been revealed as of the moment, the game is expected to bring nostalgia to avid fans of the web-slinging hero.
Being developed by Insomniac games, "Spider-man" for PS4 is confirmed to be an open-world game and the plot will not be patterned to the movies. Instead, it will follow the comic book storyline and will focus on the hero's duality. This is said to be the most ambitious "Spider-Man" game to be released so far, Gaming Bolt reported.
In the trailer, Spider-Man can be seen wearing a different costume than usual which means that there will be a wide-range of gears and costumes players can acquire and equip through the course of the game. Also, no major villains were revealed yet as Spidey were only seen battling common thugs.
For the meantime, details about the game remain scarce but that did not stop fans from speculating about the plot and Spidey's arch-nemesis that will make an appearance. Also, Marvel Games creative director Bill Rosemann is positive that the partnership between Sony and Insomniac Games is a match made in heaven.
"Not only are they world class game developers that make phenomenal story-driven experiences, but they also craft games bursting with personality, humor and most importantly: fun just like Spidey!" Rosemann told PlayStation Lifestyle.
He also commended Sony for the splendid job they did with the PlayStation 4 and how they manage to build a solid community of gamers that they are looking forward to please once the game is out.
"The PlayStation 4 is one of the most exciting gaming platforms ever!" he added. "But not only have they created a great gaming console, they also have an amazing line-up of first party titles and a community of the most passionate players that we are thrilled to join."
The game will not be connected to the upcoming "Spider-Man: Homecoming" movie as the Peter Parker they will use is more seasoned than the one Tom Holland will be portraying in the film. As for the "Spider-Man" PS4 release date, it is expected to be announced in the upcoming months.
