As it nears its launching date, ZenPad Z8 is reportedly better than the iPad Mini 4 in terms of many aspects. The android tablet is said to be more comparable and offers even more than its Apple counterpart.

At a starting price of only $249.99, the Asus ZenPad Z8 is far cheaper than Apple's iPad Mini 4 priced at $399. The report added that in terms of display, the ZenPad Z8 will sport a 7.9-inch screen with 2,048 by 1,536 pixel resolution which makes it at par with the iPad Mini 4. It will also come with a USB Type-C port which will allow it to connect with other peripherals and with an external storage as well. The port is also the device's venue to charge itself, while the iPad Mini 4 is still utilizing the lightning connector of Apple.

The new tablet is also reported to have a six-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor which is considered as one of the fast mobile chips today. Inside this processor is the Adreno 510 graphics processor which allows the device to process 4K resolution videos. This feature is difficult to compared to the iPad Mini as Apple's devices are paired specifically to its A-series chip.

The ZenPad Z8 is heavier compared to the iPad Mini 4 with only a few grams. While it weighs around 320 grams, the iPad Mini 4 is only at 304 grams. As claimed by Verizon, the tablet is said to last up to 13 hours of battery life.

Other specifications for the ZenPad Z8 include 128 GB expandable storage, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2-megapixel front camera and a 2 GB RAM. The device is already available for pre-order and will be available at Verizon stores starting June 23, The Verge reported. As of the moment, Asus did not confirm if they will be releasing variants of the said tablet outside the United States.
