‘Dragon Ball Super’ episode 48 recap and review: Future Trunks mistakes Goku for Black Goku [SPOILERS]

It is confirmed in this episode that Future Mai and Bulma are dead. "Dragon Ball Super" episode 48 takes thing forward after Black kills Mai in the previous episode.

Future Trunks is still grieving as he looks at the lifeless body of Mai. Black asks him if he is done grieving so that he can annihilate him and end the Saiyan race.

Meanwhile, Trunks believes that Black has not destroyed the Capsule Corporation building and it is likely that he doesn't know about the time machine.

Black tells Trunks that he will make sure that he reunites with Mai. Trunks transforms into Super Saiyan and fights Black.

However, Black is too powerful for him and beats him. Later, Trunks throws his sword and launches a Masenko to distract Black.

However, Black is able to find Trunks in the time machine, but he mistakes it for an airplane. Later, Trunks time travels leaving Black shocked.

Coming to the present, kid Trunks along with kid Mai, Pilaf and Shu is in the school.

The teacher asks Trunks to solve a mathematical problem but it leaves him confused. However, Pilaf steps in and solves the problem like a pro. The teacher comments that Pilaf has used his brain like an old man. Lunch time starts and Trunks invites Pilaf and others to his place. Mai is excited and even holds Trunks' hand and we can see young love blossoming.

Meanwhile, at Capsule Corporation, the time machine emerges out of thin air and Trunks and gang and shocked. Pilaf says that this could be aliens while Mai thinks they should call Vegeta to check. However, Trunks believes that he can take care of it.

Later, after they find out that it is a Capsule Corporation ship, they call Bulma. She arrives and sees the word Hope!! and asks Trunks if the man inside has blue hair.

Trunks confirms that there is a blue-haired man and Bulma rushes back to her lab to find a gadget to call Vegeta who is training with Goku, Beerus and Vegeta at Beerus' planet.

Using the gadget, Bulma is able to show Future Trunks on Whis' staff. And later, Vegeta, Goku, Beerus and Whis teleport to Earth to see Future Trunks.

Bulma doesn't have any Senzu and she asks Goku to get some from Karin Tower. Meanwhile, Vegeta is wondering why Future Trunks is here in the first place.

Goku reaches Karin Tower and sees Karin and Yajirobe playing limbo. Goku takes the Senzu and heads back.

Bulma asks the injured Trunks to consume a Senzu to recover. As soon as Trunks gains consciousness, he sees Goku and mistakes him for Black. He tries to punch Goku but the latter is able to stop him.

They are all confused about what is going on with Trunks.
