Avid fans of "The Elder Scrolls" franchise have been clamoring for the release of the next installment, "TES 6." In an interview with a friend of Kotaku, Geoff Keighley, during a YouTube Live at E3, Todd Howard confirmed that "The Elder Scrolls 6" is in the works.
According to Kotaku, Keighley asked Howard whether they would do an "Elder Scrolls 6." The head of Bethesda Studios was quick to respond that "The Elder Scrolls 6" is like the elephant in the room and he believes it is good now to tell fans that the game developer is working on the sixth installment in "The Elder Scrolls" franchise.
While the game developer is working on "The Elder Scrolls 6," it will take time before the game becomes a reality. Howard said that "TES 6" is a game they love and they will definitely create it. He added, "I have to be careful what I say-it's a very long way off."
The head of Bethesda Game Studios also confirmed that the company is working on three new projects, according to IGN. It is believed that one of the projects is "The Elder Scrolls 6," which probably will be the last.
Howard admitted that Bethesda has many ideas for the next installment, and therefore, it is hard to pinpoint what the content would be when the game finally commences its development. The head of the Studios as well thinks that critics of "The Elder Scrolls 6" may raise concerns whether there is the possibility to develop such a game without the technology to produce it.
Given "TES 6" is still a long way from its release; the company is currently working on other two big projects that may launch before "TES 6." Howard said that the game developer does not rush on development.
Meanwhile, fans of the franchise have something to smile about since the company is set to release "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" Special Edition. The version will be available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Oct. 28. It is reported that the Special Edition will come with better graphics than the previous ones.
