A new Galaxy Note is likely to appear on the market on Aug. 2, a time when Samsung is expected to host one of its unpacked popular events that introduce new Galaxy Note and Galaxy S handsets. This is due to an alleged Note 7 (Note 6) model number that was spotted on Samsung's website.
The upcoming Galaxy handset should be named the Galaxy Note 7 instead of Note 6 since it follows the Note 5. The new routine defies the normal chronological naming of numbers. This is because the company wants the Note series to be at the same level in terms of naming with the Galaxy S model handsets (S7, S7 Edge, S7 Active).
According to Phone Arena, Samsung has not confirmed the existence of the Note 7, although the model number SM-N930 appeared on their website giving a clue that it may just be the next Galaxy Note generation handset. However, there were no specific details of the expected device.
The model number SM-N935G, which appeared on an import listing, confirms that an Edge variant of the expected Galaxy Note 7 exists, and its similarities to the Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-GN935) reveal that it is an Edge variant of the upcoming Galaxy Note.
The model number SM-N930, which appeared on Samsung's website, is a giveaway of the next Galaxy Note generation series based on the past reference to the Note 4 (SM-N910) AND S5( SM-N920), according to Sam Mobile. Another new leak has fueled the speculation further by suggesting that the Note 7 may have a flat, non-Edge variant.
The upcoming Galaxy Note's model number, SM-N930, as seen on the Samsung website does not have the "G" at the end of it. This suggests that it would be a regular Note 7 instead of an Edge. Routinely, Samsung usually unifies its product line to provide marketing clarity to its customers and may, therefore, ditch the "Edge" moniker for this year's Note to ensure one Galaxy Note 7 variant instead of two.
The company has not confirmed what should be expected of the Galaxy Note 7 although the model number SM-N930F on their website has a UA Profile page. Even so, the profile page itself lacks particular information regarding the upcoming handset, only proving that Samsung may be working on the device.
