Ford takes a female professional stunt driver, a group of unsuspecting men and a Ford Mustang GT on a blind speed dating trip. A video of the prank has been uploaded on YouTube and has received almost three million views.
Ford asked the men to go on a blind date with professional stunt driver Prestin Persson who pretended to have just moved into town. Persson met the guys at a coffee shop in Dallas, chatted a little and then offered them a lift in her new car, a 2015 Ford Mustang.
One man said her car was "awesome." But when she tells them she does not know how to drive a stick, the men clearly became worried, with one even offering to drive the car for her.
Persson, however, insisted she drive and they take a slow ride through the streets of Dallas. Clearly not confident with her driving abilities, one of her dates said twice, "You might want to shift that."
Ford's accomplice pretended to be lost and took a turn towards an industrial space setup by the car maker. There the date took a fast turn as Persson shifted gears and showcased her professional stunt driving expertise.
At this point, the men were clearly surprised. Some seemed to be jittery, while others were quite enjoying the fast ride.
The Ford Mustang GT is powered by a 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine that outputs 435 horsepower and 435 lb-ft of torque. It features six-speed manual transmission and 18-inch aluminum wheels.
This model's EPA is 19 miles per gallon (mpg) on average, with 16 mpg in city driving and 25 mpg in highway driving. The Ford Mustang GT uses 93-octane fuel.
In 2014, Ford also pranked a group of people while getting a car wash. It was Halloween, so Ford had the unsuspecting drivers meet the "undead."
