A 17-year-old teenager from Florida, United States reportedly has undergone penis reduction because according to him, his large private part has restricted him to have intercourse and he cannot play sports normally.
According to the surgeons who have worked on the case, they were shocked when the teenager asked for a reduction as it is a first. Surgeons claimed when the teenager's penis was flaccid, it was seven inches in length but it had a 10-inch circumference making it look like an American football.
According to Daily Mail Online, one of the surgeons, a urologist from the University of South Florida, Rafael Carrion, there comes a time in a urologist's career that a patient makes a very rare request. He added the request of the teenager was very impossible to comprehend and it left him speechless.
According to Mirror, the teenager said he has suffered from unwanted erection due to the organ's abnormal shape that blocks blood cells and makes swell.
He also said in another statement that he had some difficulty wearing his pants due to his large and heavy phallus and it has caused him embarrassment as it was very visible under his clothing. He noted that whenever he had erections, it did not grow and instead became firmer, looking like a balloon, Carrion points out.
According to Carrion, although there were a lot of things they could do in order to make a penis bigger, they were able to make a way for the surgery to be done using a surgical technique usually used for Peyronie's disease. Basically, the surgeons sliced along an old circumcision scar, unwrapped the skin of the penis and cut out two segments of the tissue from both sides like making tummy-tucks.
The teenager spent only two days in the hospital and he was reportedly happy with the results. Carrion said in a statement, "It's slightly longer and slightly thicker than the average male, but now it looks symmetrical, and the patient was very satisfied."
