Rumors are rife that the Apple iPhone 7 will have some significant changes. However, in a newly leaked report, Apple's upcoming iPhone will not have any significant changes except for the headphone jack, which will be removed from the device thus making it look thinner.
Not just the iPhone 7, but The Wall Street Journal reported that the iPhone 7 Plus will also exclude the headphone jack and both the phones will appear much thinner than the earlier versions. Aside from this, there will be an improved water-resistant feature on both the phones.
While a lot of speculations are running wild surrounding the look of the iPhone 7, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the handset will be 1mm thinner compared to the iPhone 6s. As the launch date of the iPhone 7 is approaching fast in September, the buzz is that the 2016 release will have negligible changes. On the contrary, the 2017 release will undergo major changes in commemoration of the device's 10th anniversary.
The Cupertino firm is reportedly gearing up for a new technology that it plans to implement in the 2017 iPhones, which is why it will deviate from its usual yearly upgrade this time. There are reports that the new iPhone that will be launched next year will supposedly include an in-built Touch ID fingerprint button along with an OLED display.
Chopping out the 3.5mm jack from the phone's physical configuration specifies that there will be more space on the phone and it will cost lesser than what it would if the jack was included. There are more reports that suggest that the upcoming device will have re-constructed antenna design.
There are possibilities that Apple might replace its usual gray color with deep blue option this time. Back in 2012, the tech company used a deep blue color on the iPhone 5's black models. As for the camera, the iPhone 7 Plus is expected to come with a dual-camera option. In addition, storage options are likely to include 32GB, 128GB and 256GB.
While the iPhone 7 is ready to go on sale this fall, the year 2017 will be a new milestone for the Cupertino firm. Chief Design Officer of Apple, Jony Ive, has already expressed his desire for a device that would look like a single glass sheet. If his notion becomes true, the new Apple device won't have any bezel from next year, 9to5Mac reported.
