If rumors are to be believed, the Nexus 2016 flagship will come from HTC or Huawei, or both as Google has reportedly saw it wise to work with the two Asia-based device makers. The likelihood is the next Nexus will touchdown in three models - all possessing the necessary specs and features to make them compelling to Android fans.
Here are the top four reasons to get a Nexus this 2016:
Premium build
As mentioned, Google's Nexus partners are HTC and Huawei. Reports said that HTC will issue two handsets and of them is likely patterned after the recently landed HTC 10. For its part, Huawei is said to refresh the Nexus 6P that pretty much will keep the winning formula of the first version - premium build and specifications.
Whichever Android fans will pick, they will end up winner in owning a device that could prove as the best Nexus phone ever to come out.
High-end specifications
Speculations are rife that the Nexus 2016 editions will pack only the most powerful components available to Google and its manufacturing partners. Leaked benchmark results indicated that the 6P version 2.0 will hit the market bearing the Snapdragon 820 chip with 4GB of RAM, promising both speed and strength.
The same goes for the HTC Nexus and one version of which is said to unbox with an enhanced build of SD 820 or Snapdragon 821. It is expected that the chip will tap on the same amount of RAM provision as that of the Nexus 6P 2016 or even higher.
Solid pricing
One of the main selling points for the Nexus brand is despite the top-tier specifications the price tag is either downright cheap or relatively affordable. The asking price for the next Nexus is expected to range between $400 and $500 with the mid-range coming from HTC likely to start at $300.
Any of the tags mentioned will still prove cheaper when pitted against the rival flagships that start at $650 with some models even reaching high of $800 or more.
Extended OS support
Google said that Android support for all Nexus devices remain consistent. Basing on the latest OS support model released by the tech giant, Android Police said that the Nexus 5X and 6P will be updated until September 2017 with the security patches to continue coming in for the next 18 months afterwards.
And the same will happen for the Nexus 2016. If the release date is set September or October this year then the Android N (Nutella) that the devices will unbox with is sure to jump to Android O and P as firmware support is guaranteed by Google until 2018 and another 18 months of solid security protection.
