James Moriarty (Andrew Scott) "one of Doyle's finest villains" will be brought to life by Jones. He is expected to make Holmes and Watson's life hell on earth
The show's co-creators and executive producers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss said, "Ghosts of the past are rising in the lives of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson (Martin Freeman) bringing adventure, romance and terror in their wake," Gatiss and Moffat promised, as reported by Wales Online. "This is the story we've been telling from the beginning."
The Den of Geek cites, "The major question mark hangs whether a certain Andrew Scott will be back in the role of Moriarty proper, or whether the series three "Miss me?" cliff-hanger will turn out to be all a work of pre-recorded video jiggery pokery."
Daniel Hoffmann-Gill will also make an appearance in "Sherlock" series 4. However, it is unclear about the role he is playing.
James Holmes (Miranda, Psychoville) will too appear in this season. He will be playing a character that goes by the name of "Passenger", according to Cultbox.
Speculations on "Sherlock" Season 4 suggest Sherlock may romance with a lady as his partner Watson is happily married to his pregnant wife Mary (Amanda Abbington). If the rumors are true, who would play the role of Sherlock's love interest? Will it be return of Lara Pulver to repeat her role as Irene Adler?
Sherlock series 4 release date: It is expected to hit Televisions in January 2017. After Sherlock's 'still-a-gamble' first series was given an unpromising summertime airing, the BBC realised what they were dealing with and switched to a heavily promoted New Year spot.
