“Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki arrived on Friday, June 24, a day ahead of his fan meet in Taiwan. Dressed in white T shirt and beige pants and jacket, he was met at the airport by media and fans.
He held a short press conference at the airport and left a video message for his fans. The Taiwan fan meet is the second to the last of the China leg of the actor’s Asian tour. It was supposed to be the last, but because the Shanghai fan meet, initially scheduled on June 5 was postponed two days before the event, his last would be on July 13 in the financial capital of China.
For the Taiwan meet, there are unconfirmed reports that Park Bo Gum, the bromance partner of Song Joong-ki in their latest Domino’s Pizza advertisement, would be his special guest. There is no official confirmation yet, although Blossom Entertainment, his talent agency, has definitely ruled out that “Descendants of the Sun” actress Song Hye Kyo is 100 percent not attending the Saturday event.
That confirmation dashes the hope of the two admitting their alleged romantic relationship in a fan meet because it has been confirmed that for the Shanghai event, the special guest is Kim Jong Kook,” co-star of Song Joong-ki in the long-running series “Running Man.”
Footage of Soong Joong-ki arriving at Taiwan’s airport showed the 30-year-old actor trailed by a phalanx of media people, indicating how popular the Hallyu star is in South Korea and China.
However, because the 4,200 tickets to the event has been sold out within minutes it was offered online, the only hope of his Taiwan fans is to buy them at the secondary market at exorbitant prices. Or they could wait for Song Joong-ki to finish shooting his scenes for the war movie “Battleship Island” when he resumes his Asian tour for more fan meets, and hopefully, he and Song Hye Kyo finally having a romantic relationship and not a fraternal one, and announce it in one of the fan meets.
