A Deadline article has confirmed that the upcoming "Star Trek Beyond" film has recently added fast-growing Huahua Media as one of its Chinese partners.

The new Star Trek film, produced by Paramount Pictures and Skydance, marks the first global investment of the said firm.

The Chinese studio has previously collaborated with Paramount after being a marketing partner for its films "Transformers: Age of Extinction," "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtes," "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation," and "Terminator: Genisys," among others.

Apart from Huahua, "Star Trek Beyond" also lists prime e-commerce firm Alibaba as a partner.

The latest Star Trek movie is slated to roll out in American theaters on July 19, but its Chinese release date is not yet confirmed.

Meanwhile, during the recent showcase of Paramount's film slate, the firm gave a moment reflecting on the death of Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin, who was involved in a car accident.

Paramount's international marketing and distribution co-president Mark Viane remarked that the studio is "[joining] the world in mourning."

On the same occasion, Paramount gave a glimpse of the much-anticipated film, showing a 10-minute footage from the Justin Lin-helmed project.

"Star Trek Beyond" stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella.

In another news, Huahua Media, which is headquartered in the Beijing, has also been seen amassing resources across various industries apart from film. These include the virtual reality sector, VOD, marketplaces as well as outdoor amusements.

Furthermore, the Chinese studio was reportedly investing in intellectual property with global production partners based in the U.S., France and U.K., the Deadline reported.
