Things got lively at a screening for the upcoming film, "Bounty Hunters." The film's star, Lee Min Ho, 29, stopped by a surprise screening of his upcoming action film in Guangzhou, China on June 25.
The Hallyu star has been promoting his upcoming action film across mainland China with the film's special preview in Beijing on June 22, and two promotional road shows in Xi'an and Fuzhou on June 23 and 24, respectively. In a series of photographs released on Soompi, Lee's local fans are seen crouched at different floor levels in the shopping center.
The publication notes that thousands of fans came from all over China to attend the said promotional road shows in Xi'an and Fuzhou. It is said that the shopping centers were apparently loaded with thousands of people, to the point that it already reached the establishment's legal capacity. Hence, the event organizers had to dismiss some fans at the entryways.
As a result, Lee's agency, MYM (Me and You Making) Entertainment, decided to cancel the recent "Bounty Hunters" promotional event due to security reasons.
"Lee Minho visits to each region have attracted thousands of fans, but on June 25 in Guangzhou, more fans than usual were in attendance because it was the weekend," MYM Entertainment's representative explained.
After the cancellation, Lee personally requested for a special screening event at the nearby movie theater, Kpop Herald reported. Much to the delight of fans, the actor made a surprise appearance and expressed gratitude to his fans for their unending love and support.
Adding on, Lee further went out of his way to personally welcome and greet his fans that were waiting for him in front of his hotel, despite the protest from his local securities. Earlier reports noted that Lee's promotional events are set to wrap up this week.
"Bounty Hunters," which also stars Wallace Chung, Tiffany Tang, Karena Ng, Jones Xu, Louis Fan, is scheduled for release in China by Le Vision Pictures on July 1. Co-produced by South Korea and China, the film depicts the story of five bounty hunters working across countries in Asia.
Meanwhile, Lee's fans recently joined in a few charitable activities to celebrate the actor's 29th birthday. On behalf of Lee's name, the "Gangnam Blues" star's fans donated 11.9 million won (approximately $10,000) to help the children from single-parent families and foster homes.
