It has been quite some time now that a possibility of "Pretty Little Liars" Season 8 is hitting the headlines. However, with speculations that it is not yet the end for the Freeform teen mystery/thriller, fans were surprised after a promotional material for Season 7 did not feature Hannah Marin (Ashley Benson).
In an interview with The Wrap, showrunner I. Marlene King said that nothing is certain yet on the fate of "Pretty Little Liars" Season 8. One thing that may happen is the demise of Benson after a key art released by Freeform for Season 7 showed all the four main casts Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Troian Bellisario and Sasha Pieterse except for Benson.
"Ashley was in my office that day when the network came over with the key art," King told the publication, adding that everyone collaborated for that idea. She also dished that Benson loved the poster and thought that it was provocative, fun, and exciting.
Regarding the probability of "Pretty Little Liars" Season 8, King revealed that there were lots of ideas for the series. She claimed that it is not only the likelihood of another season, but a plan of seeing the series on the big screen.
One of the surprises is the return of Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) after she died in Season 4. Apart from the suspense, fans could also expect a lot of love interests in its upcoming seasons.
Back in August 2015, King told Variety that she was open to the plan of "Pretty Little Liars" Season 8 and a plan to see it on the big screen. She revealed it as soon as Season 6 wrapped up and the production started preparing for Season 7.
"I think we'll let the fans tell us what they want," King told the publication. She revealed that she is open to any possibilities before teasing that a movie version and "Pretty Little Liars" Season 8 are both possible.
