One of the key characters in "Game of Thrones" that fans have come to love would be Kit Harington's Jon Snow. The actor has shared that a man who punched him prior his audition may have helped him land the role of the Lord Commander in the HBO series.
In the past six seasons of "Game of Thrones," viewers have seen how Harington's character has overcome various challenges, as well as physical and emotional hardships. This iconic character has even returned to life after being stabbed several times from an unexpected attack. In the Season 6 finale episode of the HBO series, Snow has risen to become the King of the North.
The actor behind this iconic "Game of Thrones" character will forever be associated with the HBO TV series. In an interview with W magazine, he credited his success in securing the role of Snow to a man he met in McDonalds. Harington recounted that he had been in a fight with the said man the night before his audition for the show. He recalled going to a McDonald's restaurant with a girl that he was dating at that time. He shared that he asked another couple if they could sit at the same table since there were no available seats.
Harington stated that the man started being rude to his date. He defended the girl and challenged the man to a fight. However, Harington did not realize how big the man was since he had been seated. The actor admitted that he got battered during the fight and went to his audition with a black eye. It may have been one of the reasons why Harington stood out from the other actors who auditioned for the "Game of Thrones" role.
Meanwhile, Harington also accidentally punched his "Game of Thrones" co-star Iwan Rheon in the face. The incident happened when the two actors were filming the scene where Harington's Snow finally captured Rheon's character Ramsay Bolton after the bloody Battle of the Bastards, Vanity Fair reported. In the said scene, Snow repeatedly punched Bolton's face. Harington was supposed to pretend to hit Rheon, however, two of his pretend punches accidentally hit the actor's face.
He commented that Rheon took the accident well despite the painful blows to his face. Harington shared that he bought his co-star a drink after the incident.
