Hong Kong citizens are also actively participating in the campaign. They show their gratitude by paying tribute and donating to the frontline crew, according to Hello Asia. A song is in the works to honor the firemen in Hong Kong.
There was a big fire in Hong Kong on June 21 and 22. On June 22, the firemen were still fighting the huge fire and it already claimed the life of one of their colleagues and four people were already hospitalized. The personnel from the fire department raised four ladders, shooting water into the third floor of the building on fire.
White smoke continued to produce and swallowed adjacent properties. Those who are nearby could feel the heat from the blazing Ngau Tau Kok building, as far as the footbridge nearby that leads to MTR station. Passers-by covered their faces for about 5 minutes. A certain Mr. Chang, who lived near the blazing building, did not open their windows to avoid the smoke.
Some of the tired firefighters rested and drunk water in the adjacent Choi Ying Estate. Those who were walking cheered them on and one of them just replied with thumbs up, as he looked tired to speak, according to South China Morning Post.
The fire remained for over 20 hours. As the temperature increased, the Hong Kong firefighters strategized to shoot large volume of water to the building continuously so it will cool down. If the temperature drops, the fire personnel enter the scene.
