La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid is set to offer Spanish striker Alvaro Morata plus £35 million to English Premier League club Chelsea in exchange for Belgian winger Eden Hazard, according to recent rumors.
The Mirror indicated that the Spanish capital city team is plotting a tempting £75 million offer to Chelsea for its 25-year-old Belgium international that consists of a £35 million transfer fee and their 23-year-old, £40 million-rated goalscorer Morata.
Real is said to be aware that the Blues are eyeing their Colombian midfielder, James Rodriguez, but there are no indications whether Chelsea would try to negotiate to take Rodriguez instead of the young striker.
Los Blancos head coach Zinedine Zidane has been a long-time admirer of Hazard while the latter is also a big fan of Zidane during the manager's playing days with Juventus and Real.
The report said that the Pensioners are keen on keeping Hazard next season even though he was a shadow of himself in the last term, hoping that he will regain the championship form he had in 2014-2015.
Chelsea's top officials are allegedly trusting that the 5-foot-8 La Louvière, Belgium native can "recapture those heights under new boss Antonio Conte, who will join after Italy's involvement in Euro 2016 ends".
However, Real's enticing package could make the Blues change their minds and allow the Belgian to leave for Spain.
Hazard's Belgium teammate, 22-year-old striker Michy Batshuayi, is also on his way to the Stamford Bridge this summer and has already finished his medical, according to reports.
The former Lille winger had just finished his fourth season with the Blues, scoring a dismal 4 goals in only 30 appearances for Chelsea in the Premier League last term, via Caught Offside. It is a far cry from his two previous seasons when he netted 14 goals both times in 35 and 38 games respectively.
He won the Premier League Player of the Season, FWA Footballer of the Year, PFA Players' Player of the Year, Chelsea Player of the Year, Chelsea Players' Player of the Year, and the English top flight trophy all in 2014-2015 before his huge drop in form the season after.
Hazard was acquired by Chelsea form French club Lille in the summer of 2012 for a reported transfer fee of £32 million.
