The good news was revealed alongside a promotional poster and the second season's staff and cast members amid an Attack Festival live-reading event at the Tokyo International Forum, Crunchyroll reported. The show's long-awaited visual was also widely circulated on Twitter.

The action continues on with the main cast from Season 1 - Yui Ishikawa, Marina Inoue, Kisho Taniyama, Yu Shimamura, Yu Kobayashi, Hiro Shimono, Shiori Mikami, Yoshimasa Hosoya, Saki Fujita, Tomohisa Hashizume, Hiroshi Kamiya, Romi Park, Daisuke Ono and Fujiwara Keiji - which will all reprise their respective roles in the much-awaited season.

Japanese anime director Tetsuro Araki, 39, has is back on board to oversee the entire project, along with Masashi Koizuka helming the anime's second season. Further, IG Port's Wit Studio will once again produce the anime television series adaptation.

While the particulars about the show are largely being kept under wraps for now, numerous spoilers suggest that the anime's second season will presumably concentrate more on the death of Captain Levi Ackerman.

Earlier reports claimed that viewers across the globe will reportedly see Captain Levi raising the death flag in the upcoming season. It is said that Captain Levi will die while trying to save the members of the Survey Corps, including Eren Yaeger, Armin Arlert, and Mikasa Ackerman.

To add to the turmoil, the source behind Eren's power will be revealed in the second season, Cross Map reported. The publication notes that Eren's power is known as the Coordinate, which allows the user to control the actions of a Titan. The forthcoming season is also expected to reveal that Eren's father, Dr. Grisha Yeager, is reportedly still alive.
