The iPhone 7 is slated to come out in September, though some are still concerned of the limited features it will reportedly carry. The next Apple flagship is said to be thinner and carrying a similar design to the iPhone 6s as the company holds off the major changes for 2017.
The latest word on the iPhone 7 concerns the entry-level model. Apple had always started off their base models with 16GB of internal storage but all that will change for the soon-to-be-released device.
According to the Wall Street Journal, a person familiar with Apple’s iPhone 7 plans confirmed that the new starting point will be 32GB. This confirms the ongoing rumors tied up to bump the devices' internal storage, in order to possibly store high-resolution photos or videos on the device.
The iPhone 7 will reportedly have two of the three storage options, 32GB and 128GB, according to Mac Rumors. Up for confirmation is whether Apple would be replacing the 16GB storage with a 256GB option. Rumor has it that a 256GB storage variant could be out for the iPhone 7 Plus, but it remains unclear if the 4.7-inch model would come out with one to widen the storage choices.
With the iPhone 7 feature believed to be imminent, it takes one out of the mix of possible specs that the Apple flagship will be offering. The device is widely believed to be thinner with no 3.5 mm headphone jack, and prior to the default storage revelation, Mac Otakara noted a possible change in the color variant of the iPhone 7. According to them, the space gray color variant could be darker and closer to black, compared to previous iPhone models.
Inside, the iPhone 7 will bank on an Apple A10 processor, 3GB of RAM and possibly using dual-lens cameras. It should be noted that the camera is seen as the possible reason behind the need to bump up the default storage for the device. The physical home button has allegedly been altered and smoothened to address waterproofing issues.
Aside from the storage variant, there is still obvious a lot to touch on. For the meantime, check out the video for the latest on the upcoming iPhone 7.
