Kate Middleton made two revelations during a recent Wimbledon visit. The Duchess of Cambridge commented on Prince William's tennis skills and hinted that Prince George may grow up as an avid tennis fan.
The Duchess of Cambridge made the revelation while visiting the Wimbledon's ladies' semi-finals event on Thursday, July 7, Mail Online reported. Kate was welcomed by All England Club's Chairman Philip Brook when she arrived at Wimbledon. She also had the chance to meet some of the tennis players, along with the staff and other game officials.
The royal mother-of-two even shared Prince George's budding tennis interest while chatting with British tennis player Greg Rusedski. The tennis pro recounted how the Duchess made mention of the royal toddler's new sports hobby. Prince George is said to enjoy playing tennis and even has his own racket.
It appears that the royal couple's son has inherited the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's keen interest in sports and in tennis. Prince William and Kate had a new tennis court constructed at their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, last year. Apart from sharing Prince George's new tennis hobby, the Duchess also spoke of Prince William's tennis prowess.
Rusedski shared how the royal couple "obviously enjoy" playing tennis. However, Kate was said to have described her tennis matches with Prince William as "frustrating." The Duchess explained that given the Duke being left-handed, playing a game with the royal prince may sometimes be exasperating.
Meanwhile, tennis champion Serena Williams was one of the tennis stars that Kate met at the said Wimbledon event. Williams even asked the Duchess to join her for a quick Snapshot video, Time reported. In the clip, the tennis player joked that she can already be considered as part of the "in-crowd," before introducing Kate who stood beside her.
The Duchess had a big smile on her face, while Williams' laugh can be heard in the background. The tennis player's Snapshot moment is said to be Kate's debut in the said social media platform.
